Death Cafe
March 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

About this event
Death Cafe was founded by Jon Underwood, a beloved student at Jamyang and a pioneer in opening up the conversation about death. We often resist thinking death about until we have a direct experience of it, either through bereavement, illness or accident. And yet, death is the most important transition we all have to make. The objective of Death Cafe is to offer a conducive and friendly environment to discuss, increase awareness of, and remove the stigma around death. During the pandemic, the reality of death has had a much more tangible presence in many of our lives. Perhaps this conversation is needed now more than ever.
Please note: Death Cafe is space for open and confidential discussion. It is not a bereavement counselling or support service. If you are recently bereaved and are seeking professional support, please contact your GP or a relevant service for advice, such as Cruse Bereavement Care. Spaces are limited to enable meaningful dialogue between participants.
