Coming Home: Healing Ourselves
October 11 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
About this event
As part of Black History Month, Buddhists Across Traditions have organised a series of events entitled Coming Home. The theme is a reminder that racial healing and justice is part of everyday life. Buddhists Across Traditions have gathered Buddhist and Mindfulness teachers of Afrikan descent from South Africa, UK and USA to honour the contributions of the African diaspora to the culture, wisdom, wealth and development of countries around the world. Each event is unique, with different guests and themes, and will include meditation, talks, prayers, music and opportunities for you to participate.
Is this for me?
Absolutely! All are welcome. This event is for all those who wish to hear from leading Black voices in the global Buddhist community.
What can I expect?
This session, with Ralph Steele (USA), Nobantu Mpotolu (SA) and Dr Erica Ennis (UK), reminds us that we need to heal our minds and reconstruct our thinking – a route that takes us towards racial healing and justice. We can transform anger, fear, prejudice, hate, grief and oppression on a daily basis. We can shape of our thinking, speech, and action as we reconnect with ourselves and one another.
